Three Bays

Hong Kong
2021

Concept

Inspired by the view of sea and sky as seen from the property itself, the Three Bays project is a balance of muted blue, orange tones, and complementary colours—keeping the atmosphere natural and relaxing. Texture and details on the furniture, as well as artwork and functional decorative elements, give the space personality and make it feel warm and inviting. The Three Bays project incorporates the outdoors inside of the home.

Healthy & Sustainable Features

When it comes to adding the finishing touches to our projects, Liquid Interiors always follow the R's of Waste Management. One way we demonstrate this is by constantly encouraging the use of reusables over disposables and single-use plastics. For this particular project, we added washable cloth napkins to the plate setting that also function as placemats for small bites. Aside from that, rustic and antique furniture are preferred over new furniture since they add character and meaning while also reducing the production of waste. If the furniture isn’t reused, we ensure that it is sourced sustainably, such as the rattan statement shoe cabinet placed by the doorway.
Plants are a staple in all of our projects as we always make sure that our clients’ environments support their health. Not only decorative, plants lower stress levels and clean the air well. In the kitchen, we gave our clients a choice of plate sizes to help them manage their food portions. Art is placed on the walls, but also on top of tables and little cabinets, such as the layers of candles and used ombre glass vases in different shapes and textures. Accent cushions are found on every sofa to bring the personality of old existing furniture, merging the old with new and giving these items a new lease in life. The patterns add variety and an unexpected visual interest with a sense of coziness in the space.
The inspiration for the art is the colour schemes the client, along with Liquid Interiors has set, so as to complement the space and not compete with the other elements. The benefits of art are plenty. Art adds meaning and reflection, especially the ones with a special and personal connection to the client. This, along with the harmony it makes with the eyes, creates an emotional benefit to the homeowner—stimulates imagination and creativity while increasing productivity.
