Pearl Gardens, Mid-Levels, is the 2,200 sq. ft. home for a family of four, transformed into a tranquil retreat inspired by the idea of a family lake house. This flat inherently has beautiful green views on one side which creates a very calming and still and relaxing atmosphere. The family wanted to maximise this mountain view and create a home sanctuary that can allow them to express their love for nature, sustainability and connect to their experiences spent in North America. Hence, we used non-toxic designs and sustainable, natural materials throughout the apartment to reflect the family's values and tie them to their experiences.

For lake house vibes creation, we have furnished the area with natural-feeling materials and dotted it with plant. Also, the solid wood ceiling beams were installed to introduce a touch of nature to the otherwise urbane living space. The workplace and library serve as the main office for the family, as the daughter works from home most of the time. This room is the most tranquil in the entire apartment, due to the full mountain view and ample natural light streaming in through the huge windows. Because of its proximity to the hall, this space creates the impression that the living room and the dining area extend into it. The two sets of pocket doors can be closed for some quiet space or an extra guest room. The connection of the dining room to the kitchen island and kitchen area makes the home feel more connected and social. When greater partition or seclusion is required in the kitchen, the glass on the opposite side of the open island can be closed. Leading to the bedrooms are the secret door and corridor. A secret door concealed within a bookshelf opens up to the son’s bedroom. It is catering for their son’s 007 personality since he wanted to have an element of surprise.
