Concept

Classic modern design dances with nature in this bright Mid-levels home of art collectors. The goal for this space was to not only display their vast collection of art pieces but to also unite friends and family with a calm, serene feeling of discovering a quiet stream. Natural materials such as rattan, potted plants, and stone patterns in the decor mimic the gentle movement found when walking through a forest, while clean lines define the modernity of the home in the classic shell.

Healthy & Sustainable Features

Bringing the outside into this space, we ensured the wellness and sustainability of both the home and its residents. The balcony that connects to the living room infuses biophilic designs that give a sense of calmness to the sanctuary. Using bi-folding doors and open windows that connect the outdoor and indoor spaces, we promote good air quality with an all-natural cross-ventilation system with the help of ceiling fans. We installed bamboo roller blinds on the balcony space to ensure privacy and peace of mind despite the space being located close to neighbors.

Many of the materials used in the decor and design are sustainable and eco-friendly, such as rattan accents in the chairs and decorative overhead lights. Elements of the home before the renovation were reused, such as the reddish-brown oak floors that were sanded to their original color to complement the light atmosphere. Circadian lighting is used around the home to promote wellness. Whether they are working from home or relaxing by the fireplace, the lighting colour temperature adjusts to suit their daily activities and create just the right mood for each occation.
