Health & Sustainable Features
Casa de las Floros is home to a family of four, a couple and two young children. During the renovation process, the Spanish character of its architecture was retained as much as possible. In doing so, the charm of the house was preserved and renovation costs were kept minimal. From the dining table, a view of the front garden blossoming with roses, trees and pomegranates gives glimpses of nature from the inside. An open layout brimming with nature’s touch helps relax the mind and improve overall well-being by reducing stress through connecting with nature. Keeping to an open-space concept, the exhaust hood design and blear back wall with lighting in the kitchen makes it much more spacious. Herbs on the windowsill provide fresh herbs for healthy cooking, while a food recycler turns food waste into fertiliser for nourishing the herbs and other plants in Rowena’s garden.
