Embrace Eco-Friendly Christmas Decor with Liquid Interiors

04/12/2023

The holiday season is a time of joy, togetherness, and giving. It’s also an opportunity to express our creativity and showcase our unique style through festive decorations. This year, why not take a sustainable approach to your Christmas decor? At Liquid Interiors, we believe in the power of eco-conscious choices, and we’re excited to share four inspiring ideas for environmentally friendly Christmas decorations.

1. From Outdoor Garden to Table Décor: A wonderful way of incorporating natural elements into your decoration

A green Christmas is a reality for many living in warm climates. So why not bridge the gap between your garden and your decor? Embrace the beauty of nature by incorporating fresh greens from your garden into your Christmas table settings and floral arrangements.

Start by using fresh greens as napkin accents, adding a touch of vibrant color and earthy fragrance to each place setting. In this place setting, we used cut-greens from the outdoor garden such as olive tree, cinnamon sticks, and seasonal flowers. They can be tucked into napkin folds or tied with rustic twine for a rustic, natural touch.

2. From Indoor Garden to Table: Savoring Nature’s Bounty

An indoor garden is a wonderful way to bring nature into your holiday décor and dishes and enjoy the benefits of gardening year-round. You can cultivate various plants in an indoor garden, such as rosemary sprigs, mint leaves, or even sage. They can add a delightful aroma and visual appeal to your drink and food. Incorporate the flavors of the season by garnishing your holiday cocktails with fresh herbs from your garden. They look beautiful and infuse your beverages with a touch of natural goodness. One of my combinations for the holiday drink is top with pomegranate and rosemary, elderflower cordial, local honey, sparkling soda, and ice. For adult, we can replace the sparkling soda by elderflower cordial, gin, and tonic.

Lastly, create stunning floral arrangements with native seasonal flowers. Seek out blossoms or greens that thrive in your region and garden during the festive season. Locally sourced flowers will bring a sense of place and authenticity to your holiday decor.

3. Upcycling Christmas Decor: Giving Your Old Baubles a Makeover:

Are you tried of your old Christmas baubles that are not fitting for your décor color palette this year? Rather than discarding them, why not give them a new lease of life? Upcycling and repurposing are wonderful ways to reduce waste and add a personal touch to your festive decorations.

Start by sorting through your bauble collection and identify the ones that may not match your current theme or color scheme. Instead of buying new ones, get creative and transform them into unique, luxury ornaments that reflect your personality.

Consider painting your baubles in a way that complements your overall decor. Choose eco-friendly paint options and experiment with different patterns, textures, or metallic finishes. You can even involve your family in this fun project, turning it into a memorable bonding experience. This not only adds a touch of elegance to your tree but also makes each bauble a cherished keepsake. I was inspired by this vintage DIY video and made my own baubles this year.

4. Eco-Friendly Christmas Wrapping Paper: Repurposing Old Materials for a Sustainable Holiday Season

With the holiday season fast approaching, it’s always nice to consider ways to make our celebrations more eco-friendly. One easy way to do this is by choosing our Christmas wrapping paper wisely. Instead of buying new paper, which is wasteful, why not try using eco-friendly alternatives? You can get creative with upcycling materials like old curtains, left-over wallpaper from your renovation or what you have in your home to make unique and sustainable wrapping paper for your gifts. It’s a small change, but it can make a big difference!

This sustainable alternative reduces waste and adds a personal touch to our gifts. Let’s embrace this eco-conscious approach and inspire others to do the same, making our holiday celebrations more environmentally friendly and meaningful. Just wanted to remind you that the holidays are a great time to get creative with your gift wrapping while making eco-friendly choices. By doing so, we can all have a positive impact on the environment while still enjoying the festive season. So go ahead and have fun wrapping those gifts, and have a happy and sustainable holiday season!

This holiday season, let’s embrace eco-friendly Christmas decor and celebrate the beauty of sustainable choices. By incorporating elements from your indoor or outdoor garden, giving your old baubles a makeover, and upcycling the old materials. You can create a unique and environmentally conscious festive atmosphere. At Liquid Interiors, we believe that small changes can make a big difference, and we hope these ideas inspire you to infuse your holiday celebrations with creativity, nature, and a commitment to our planet. Happy decorating!

Happy Holidays!
